When I launch Word I try to sign in and get a prompt that says: ===== Choose your product These are the products we found for - Microsoft Office 365 Small Business Premium Using 0 of 10 installs Your product isn't installed Go to your account to install it (that's a link) ===== The link takes me back to the web portal and it wants to install Office 2016 again, and remove Office 2013. The Office 365 subscription was purchased through GoDaddy. Had to talk to their support. After some pressing (at first they said no can do) they said it's a setting on the server, that's where the version is authorized. They recommended I call Microsoft (which I had done initially but was referred back to partner GoDaddy). Haven't had time to do that yet. Edit to add: GoDaddy said that the links I used as posted above were only a fix for users of Exchange 2007.
Didn't notice that it was released today. As I've poked around in the Office 365 pages I can't find where to install Office 2013 instead. All I see is an option to install 'the latest' version of Office.
The entire Microsoft Office 2016 suite for Mac includes Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Word and Outlook, though it sounds like you might only be looking for the word processor piece of that (Microsoft Word). Compare Word for Mac 2011 with Word 2016 for Mac. Choose an Office Theme. Newly designed ribbon organizes tools and formatting similar to Office for Windows.
At this point, I'm thinking Paris H started to lose patience with me. I was instantly told 'Yes, that appears to be correct.'
In Microsofts Q&A on the issue they said: -------------- 'We don’t want to upgrade to Office 365 ProPlus. Can't we keep authenticating for Office ProPlus 2010?

Although I cancelled my Office 365 Midsize Business plan, I still have my Office 2013 license for my PCs and my Office 2011 license for my Macs. Yep, there it is. That's the start of this story. I get downloadable Office from the school where I teach, but they only have Office 2011 for Mac. As you probably know,, and it's much more in line with the PC version of Office 2013 we're all used to. Office 2011 for Mac is so bad that I have a Parallels install of Windows on most of my Macs, just to run Office 2013 in a Windows virtual machine. 
The key here is the version of Office 365. As a GoDaddy customer for Office 365 their edition is called 'Microsoft Office 365 Small Business Premium'. The links they posted earlier in their thread were for 'Business Premium', not 'Small'.
